You've had close calls with your gooseneck trailer long enough. The 9" offset on this coupler gives you more clearance when you turn. It's perfect for short beds, full-width front trailers, or any setup that runs tight near the cab.
If you've got a short bed truck or a gooseneck trailer that cuts in too tight, you know how close things can get in a turn. The 9" offset on this coupler moves the hitch point forward to give your trailer more breathing room up front, helping you clear the cab when backing up or cornering sharp.
With some couplers, you're never quite sure if they're secure. This Demco eZ-Latch coupler fixes that. Just drop it onto the ball and it latches itself. There are no extra steps involved. Once it's connected, you know it's going to stay put. And if you're leaving your trailer hooked up somewhere, the InfiniteRule lock (IR66FR - sold separately) keeps the latch from being opened so no one can pull up and take it.
Towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated component in your setup.
If you have a recessed gooseneck ball, there must be at least a 12" x 12" opening in your bed for this coupler to work. In addition, the top of the hitch ball cannot be more than 2" from the top of the bed.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this Shocker square gooseneck coupler with Demco eZ-Latch and a nine-inch offset. Now, this is a heavy-duty replacement gooseneck coupler that's designed to make towing safer, easier, and a whole lot more flexible for you, especially if you have a short bed truck or an older trailer that needs an upgrade. Now, one of the biggest advantages here is going to be this nine-inch forward offset. That's going to push your trailer slightly away from the cab of your truck, so this is going to be really helpful to prevent cab strikes when you're making those tighter turns, something that short bed truck owners have to deal with quite a bit.
So, this is going to fit your 4 1/2 inch square stem, and I think I'm in frame there. Let me just confirm that with you. Putting my tape measure up there, so hopefully you can see that 4 1/2 inch measurement there. And your trailer does need straight safety pinholes for this to work. So if your current coupler is worn out, if it's bent, if it's damaged in any other way, this is going to really be a solid replacement for you to consider.
You're just going to slide out your old inner tube and then you're just going to slide this one in. No complicated install. And this isn't really overly heavy at all. I was actually able to get onto the tabletop myself. Now, hooking up to your ball is going to be very easy as well.
Let me go ahead and give you a closeup view here. So, this does feature Demco's eZ-Latch system which is great. So, you're not going to have to mess around with trying to line things up perfectly. This is going to lock onto that 2 5/16 inch ball when you lower this down. You're not going to have to lift this up to unlock it.
It's just going to drop right over to that ball and automatically latch that ball and you're going to be secured. And then when you're ready to uncouple, they'll just lift that latch up and then lift up off the ball. That's how easy this is going to be. You do have the ability to run a lock through here as well to secure this to that ball if you so desire. As far as strength goes, this is built from thick, powder coated steel with welded construction, as you can see here. So, this is made to handle heavy loads and rough roads. This is rated up to 30,000 pounds of towing capacity and 6,000 pounds of tongue weight. Though remember, you will always be limited by the weakest component in your setup. This is also adjustable. We do have these four mounting holes, as you can see, and the mounting holes are space on center at 2 3/4 inches apart, so you're going to be able to fine tune your trailer height to match your truck and keep everything level while towing. One additional note I wanted to make is if you do have a recessed gooseneck ball, your truck bed needs at least a 12 inch by 12 inch opening and the ball can't sit more than two inches below the surface of your bed. If you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out. We do want to make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Works perfectly and fixed my clearance problem.
Great product Looks amazing! I called and it went straight to voicemail, so I hung up. A few minutes later a sales rep calls back. He was so helpful and nice. After answering all my questions he didn’t pressure me to buy right then and that stood out to me. More companies need to follow their customers service love mercy grace hospitality.
I have just received it.I haven't had a chance to put it on the trailer yet.But it looks excellent!!
This product is heavy duty and very well built! Solved my problem having a short bed. Fast ship and definitely recommend!
Very easy install and the offset length is perfect! I also like the shift lock feature. I have already gotten a few compliments from other drivers only after a few hours of installing. I definitely will be converting all other couplers to this one! Thanks Etrailer team!
